Lower Body Benefits
Due to the continuous impact that reaches back and lower trunk muscles, in combination with the slight natural rotation of the upper-body during walking, The deep-lying muscles which stabilize our spine become stronger. This results in diminishing lower back pain and keeps spine in an upright position.
- (Koskinen et al. 2003) did examine the effectiveness of NW on ageing employees on their postural control as well as to the muscular strength of lower extremities and the middle trunk.
- Subjects (n=24) were 45 to 61 year old , majority of women. They did NW three times weekly and partly instructed.
- The group did improve in health-related fitness parameters evaluated by the Fitness Test battery developed by UKK Institute
